Grand Seas by Exploria Resorts Re-Opens After 2 Years of Major Renovations

The Grand Re-Opening of Grand Seas by Exploria Resorts

DAYTONA BEACH, FLORIDA – February 17, 2020 — The North Tower of the 165-unit Grand Seas resort has re-opened following a 2-year Hurricane Irma recovery and multi million dollar renovation effort. The ocean front resort property was first acquired by Club Exploria LLC, the Orlando, Florida based resort development group, in 2014. Shortly thereafter, it was rebranded into the Exploria Resorts vacation ownership portfolio and underwent continuous renovations and improvements through September 2017 when Hurricane Irma hit Volusia County, Florida, at which time it closed for major reconstruction and renovation.

Sena Hospitality Design was proudly part of the 2-year renovation included the replacement of all ocean facade unit windows which were damaged by the category 4 storm, reconstruction of building exteriors and interior foundations, along with replacement of all unit interior hard and soft goods which suffered extensive water damage. The property grounds and amenities which sit on 800 feet of direct ocean shoreline were also refurbished. This included the 9-hole mini golf course, two exterior pool decks and surfaces, and the Tiki Bar.

“It has been a long and involved project” commented Cheryl Bellacicco, Vice President, Resort Operations for Exploria Resorts. “Through a diligent and unwavering commitment to work through all assessment issues, our teams collaborated with specialized renovation and restoration coastal experts to bring Grand Seas back online. The resort is grander than ever before and we’re thrilled to have the North Tower re opened for our Exploria Resorts owners, exchangers and guests to experience an all new oceanfront resort and the many appeals of the Daytona Beach area.” She continued, “Our ties to the Daytona Beach area go back more than 20 years to when the Grand Seas resort was first developed and introduced as one of the area’s premier vacation ownership resorts. Many storms have come and gone over the years and we’re proud to have been a part of bringing Grand Seas back to its former grandeur, standing stronger and more beautiful than ever before.”
